Our Story
At Ireco we have been supplying the leading discounters and supermarket chains across Europe for the past five decades. While, we are known for the particular roast that gives our range of products its distinct flavor, our passion for nuts finds its roots in the Middle East, where over three quarters of a century ago, Mr. Abbas Rafii, who founded the company in 1971, grew up as part of one of the biggest pistachio grower families of Iran.
With his unique sense of humor, deep-seated humility and keen business acumen he turned what for many could have been a recipe for failure into an enduring success story that has now grown into a roasting capacity of 5 tons per hour on a company site of roughly 4000 square meters. It is through his dedicated effort, that the pistachio nut, a delicacy, which for thousands of years, has been the reflection of culture and refinement was introduced into the European market where it was virtually unknown. Now it has become a staple in every household craving a healthy snack thanks to his perseverance all those years ago.
Over the past few years, we have expanded our production portfolio to apply our unique expertise to a wide range of nuts and roasting methods. We have also focused on developing our Quality and Safety department.
