Mr. Rafii grew up in a family of pistachio growers and thus has been exposed to the nut industry his whole life. This gives him a thorough understanding of the workings of this business as well as a real love and passion for nuts in general. At the plant you will always run into him while he is enjoying a freshly roasted batch of nuts!! As a result he is very closely involved in overseeing all the aspects of the business and is especially interested in following the roasting process, which give IRECO pistachios their unique and leading taste.
This is not all, however, Mr. Rafii has also been an active member of the International Nut Council Executive Committee and Board of Directors since 1981. In addition he is the Honorary Consul of Indonesia in Luxembourg and an active member of a local NGO specialized in education projects in developing countries.
Mr. Rafii won the Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2006 organized by Ermst & Young.
